Part I - Topic Ideas
Part I of this assignment is designed to help you begin organizing your thoughts about the topic for the final project. Answer the following questions as completely as possible. Use the back if you need more room.
1. What ideas do you have for a topic or what is your proposed topic?
2. Try to write your idea in one clear sentence or pose it as a question.
3. What are the key concepts/issues that you are interested in examining?
4. Breakdown the concepts and issues you identified into as many synonyms as possible and write them below.
5. What kinds of information/material do you think you will want to use in order to fully research your topic (e.g. books, reference books, articles, images, recordings, statistics, government documents, newspapers, webpages, etc.)?

Part II - Exploring the Library Webpage and Merlin
Part II of this assignment is to help you begin exploring the library webpages and Merlin, the online catalogue. Use the Web version of Merlin to answer questions 9-11.

You need to use Merlin to answer the next few questions. To log into the Web version of Merlin, you need tstart from the library's homepage (http://libweb.sonoma.edu) Click the Library Collections link, then click the Merlin Online Catalog link. Now you are in the library catalog.
