Source Types
Consider the purpose of your research: Academic journals include articles written by and for scholars. They are usually peer-reviewed by others in academia. This is how scholars maintain a high standard of research within their discipline. They are part of a large community of scholars.
On the other hand, magazines and newspapers are usually written for the general public. Their intent and purpose vary widely, and these articles are not subject to peer-review.
