Cecily Stevens ~ Student Assistant
As a Library Student Assistant, Cecily has researched, digitized, and organized historic material about Santa Rosa’s Fountaingrove utopian community; assisted with the California Folklore Miscellany digital project; scanned images in support of a campus-funded mini-grant project; and transcribed and organized Gaye LeBaron resources housed in the Regional & Special Collections Department of Sonoma State's Library.
Cecily, a graduate student in the Education Department, loves discovering local history through her work in the Regional Department. She plans to be a middle school teacher.
"For the past two years, I have perpetually discovered windows to the past hidden within the Regional Collection. Coming to work is like a treasure hunt. The bounty is centuries of knowledge from a multitude of cultures. Not only are the resources abundant and insightful in the Regional Department, my fellow treasure hunters are a wealth of knowledge themselves and a great deal of fun to journey with. I would encourage anyone interested in local history to check out the Regional Collection and its awesome staff. You are sure to find a treasure chest full of wealth and wisdom!" ~ Cecily Stevens
