Wireless Printing

  • Wireless printing is only available to patrons with a current Seawolf ID AND logged into the wireless prior to printing.
  • The Pharos Pop-Up will not show up. Print jobs will automatically be titled with the name of the document being printed and the login name of the patron's laptop.
  • ALL Print Jobs will be available for Printing on the First Floor of the Library ONLY.
  • Visit the LTS Desk, located on the first floor of the library, if you require additional assistance to set up printing on your laptop.
  1. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers
  2. Select Add a Printer
  3. Select Add a local printer
  4. Select Create a new port. Change port type to Standard TCP/IP Port
  5. Type ssuprint.sonoma.edu into Hostname or IP Address
  6. Additional port information wll be required. Click on Custom, then Settings.
  7. Change protocol to LPR
  8. Type in Laptopq on Queue Name
  9. Check the LPR Byte Counting Enabled
  10. Select Lexmark T520 (MS) as the Printer Driver.
  11. Give the printer the name the SSU Library Printer
  12. Click Finish and you are done.

Open System Preferences located under the Blue Apple

Select Print and Fax

Add a printer (+)

Choose the IP option at the top of the Panel

Fill in the fields with the following info:

  • Protocol: Line Printer Daemon - LPD
  • Address: ssuprint.sonoma.edu
  • Queue: Laptopq
  • Name: SSU Library Printer
  • Location:University Library
  • Print Using: Generic Postscript Printer

Select Add
